Yes. Sessions - plural! Let’s just say - you have options and choices galore. If you're expecting, here are some things to consider. I would of course recommend doing all of these sessions, but I understand it’s not possible for everyone, so you can pick and choose. Here’s the long list and I’ll deep dive into each one below.
I know what you’re thinking…. It’s either you want to celebrate your changing body, or you feel very uncomfortable and not your best. I’ve been there ladies. I understand. I gained around 55 pounds with my last baby and I wasn’t feeling super pretty. But I just knew I had to document this little miracle baby… for him. We need to remember, it’s not so much about us, but about our kiddos. Take these photos for them. So they can look back and see their beautiful mama knowing they are inside. I would recommend taking these photos anywhere between 32 and 34 weeks. You can learn more here!
If it’s not, I would HIGHLY recommend this. It’s a quick little session that happens in the hospital suite 48 hours after you’ve given birth. I come to almost any hospital in the Twin Cities to capture these memories for you and I promise you’ll look back with tears - so happy you decided to book this. Learn more here
If you choose me to take your newborn photos, I would book as soon as you reach your second trimester. I book out early and always fully book my calendar. Most of the images you see in my gallery were taken between day 5-12 after baby is born. Because babies are at their sleepiest and most flexible shortly after birth, that's when I will see you in the studio with baby. If for some reason you cannot come until after that time, no worries! I have successfully photographed newborns up to 6 weeks of age. The takeaway here is, if you have to choose one session - I’d choose the newborn session. These little miracles are only this tiny for a couple of short weeks and then it’s gone. Capture it beautifully in my studio. Learn more about my newborn sessions here
